You, Susie, and Ralsei look upon an elaborately designed brick library with a Dark Fountain emerging from its center. Susie whispers conspicuously to you about the contents of the building.
When you enter, stories of bookshelves reach from the floor up to the very top of the multi-story building. Every one is filled with some personal note or song lyric or cute little sketch, as if this library is a recollection of one person's thoughts from birth to death.
A song rehearsed by a vocal synth plays from somewhere in the building. The human who gives themself to you starts to look down at the floor, wincing as they cover the ribcage that contains you, as though the song is giving them a heart attack. You know why.
As you progress along the red-carpeted hallway, staring up at the carved railings separating the upper stories from the lower ones, your eyes are taken back from the floor by an unfamiliar Darkner sitting in a leather chair. Her stance emits power, but her voice trembles.
"Welcome, lightners. You may call me Rain."
"I'll put it simply. To leave, you must fight him. I come bearing his weaknesses."
She turns to look at you, but it is as if she is looking through you - as though she looks directly at Kris.
"But his weaknesses may also be yours, Kris."
She hands you a brightly-colored, important-seeming journal.
words will one day fill this book
author's joy stored in this nook
troubled days put into words
still intact in spite of sorrow
when you never thought you'd see tomorrow
every day is a new beginning
